The Diocese of Northern Indiana

Daughters of the King

Fall Assembly

The Rose of Sharon Chapter of the Daughters of the King hosted the Fall Assembly at St. Albans' in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on October 18. The Rev. Daniel Layden, rector of St.Alban's, spoke in the morning about evangelism. During Mass our new banner was blessed by Fr. Layden. The beautiful quilted banner, made by the Rev. Tina Velthuizen, features a lighthouse—the symbol of the Diocese of Northern Indiana. Each chapter's name is written on the lighthouse. We are very grateful for her beautiful handiwork! The banner will be on display in Cathedral of St.James in South Bend, Indiana. Be sure to check it out next time you're there! After lunch, Susan O'Brien, Vice President of Province 5, spoke about "The Wonder of Being a Daughter." She led us through new ways to look at our prayer lives and different ways to serve the Lord. She also encouraged us all to become involved daughters beyond our own chapter.
